Responsibilities: Industrial Design | Brand Analysis

Through analyzing Sonos as a brand, I identified a gap
in their speaker lineup. At the time, I discovered that
Sonos was lacking a medium sized adventure speaker.

Finding the gap in the
lineup: SONOS

‍The Gap

A speaker built for adventure

A medium sized portable speaker that still delivers their signature sound quality.

Market research 💬

I came up with the following conclusions

To fit in with the users lifestyle, it needed to be a great inbetween size, not too small... not too big.

To ensure this speaker could fit into any environment,  the user needed options as to where it could be placed.

Adding to the lifestyle of adventurous folks, this speaker needed to have a feature that could lead them along the way.

SKETCHING IDEATION

My Process begins with
sketching and then I bring
them to life through prototyping

All of the products by Sonos have a heavy, dominate presence. Many of
the products have this monolith-type aesthetic that stands strong. I wanted to
explore what other unique shapes could accomplish that feeling.

I settled on the triangle due to its solid/dynamic presence and the simplicity
of it having a natural front, that being the point. The shapes acts though it is
signaling to move forward with confidence and ease
